An vast underground rock formation that is saturated with water. It is tapped by drilling wells and provides much of the water for cities, farming, ranching, and industry in the Great Plains region. This formation underlies approximately 174,000 square miles of the Great Plains region, primarily in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado and Nebraska. learn more
